Community-based health worker

Community-based health workers are “health workers based in communities (i.e. conducting outreach beyond primary health care facilities or based in peripheral health posts that are not staffed by doctors or nurses), who are either paid or volunteer, who are not professionals, and who have fewer than two years training but at least some training, if only for a few hours”.[1]
